Better late than never, right?

The golden era of the Arrowverse is coming to an end on The CW, as The Flash inches closer to its series finale.

Though heartbreaking for the loyal fans who have stuck with the show for all 9 years it has been on the air, it promises to be a story that does the superhero justice and gives everyone some closure.

Viewers are hoping that it will be much better than the endings of some of the other shows in the universe, like Supergirl or even the original Arrow.

From the looks of it, they will not be disappointed, as The Flash has already started to fill in the plot holes that have been bothering viewers about Oliver Queen's choices.

In the last episode of season 9, It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To, viewers were surprised by the reappearance of Green Arrow, with whom Barry landed on Lian Yu.

Though his presence was very brief, it was a nice nod to the beginning of the Arrowverse, and his help was much appreciated throughout the episode.

But that's not the only reason fans were happy to see him: the writers used the cameo as an opportunity to explain one of the most frequently asked questions about Arrow's own finale.

Why did Oliver choose not to bring back Robert Queen?

Speaking in the words of Oliver Queen himself, "bringing him back would have done too much to alter reality".

Unfortunately, there was only so much he could do without completely changing the universe itself, so his father had to stay dead.

As much as it hurt, Arrow felt like it was a decision made not with grief, but with honor for his father and the sacrifice he made.

Though the finale was bittersweet, it was thoughtful enough to satisfy fans.

Hopefully, The Flash finale will only step up and give viewers an even more epic conclusion.

Tune in to The CW on May 24th to catch the final episode of The Flash live, or catch up on previous seasons on Netflix via the CW app.
