How Old Will Kevin Costner Be by the Time His Horizon Saga Is Fully Released?
The actor has a long way to go in his acting career after wrapping it all up with Yellowstone.
Paramount’s Neo-Western hit show Yellowstone may be over for everyone, including its lead Kevin Costner as well, but the actor seems to be far from calling it a day for his career.
After more than 4 decades in the industry, Costner isn’t losing his ground anytime soon, at least not until his epic Western saga Horizon reaches its conclusion.
The first part of the four-chapter movie series titled Horizon: An American Saga gave a promising start to the film-turned-franchise back in May when it received a warm welcome at the Cannes Film Festival, though later ended up with not so warm reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Still, Costner’s saga will be around for at least a couple of following years, and by that time the 69-year-old actor may have a reason to celebrate an impressive milestone.
While Horizon Chapter 1 is already trying to do its best to make it up to its previous box office failure, the rest of the saga has no particular release date after the first movie didn’t have as much success as expected.
The second chapter was initially part of the August release schedule, yet things changed quickly after the first film’s poor performance, with the latter causing more troubles for its successor that keeps waiting for its theatrical release at an undisclosed date.
Horizon’s third part reportedly started its production back in May, which might give a reason to believe that the filming has already been completed and everyone is getting ready to drop the movie sometime next year.
Meanwhile, the franchise is also supposed to get a fourth movie at some point, though nothing yet can be said about it for sure.
Considering that things significantly slowed down for the saga in the last few months, it may not be that bold to assume that Horizon will be in the works until at least 2025 or 2026, but that’s actually some good news for Kevin Costner himself.
Should the actor keep himself busy in the industry for another two years with his brand new franchise or some other project he will be willing to pick up, Costner will reach a remarkable milestone of working for 45 years in the cinema and TV since his first ever role in a movie belongs to the 1981 film Sizzle Beach, U.S.A.
With all the hard work that Horizon now demands from its creator, Costner is likely to be obliged to get rid of any retirement plans until he’s at least 71 or 72 years old.
