The Big Bang Theory may have been one of the most successful sitcoms of its time, but apparently, it wasn't always like that – especially, in the beginning.

For those of you who didn't know, the show actually had two pilot episodes. The first one was so different from what the series became that it simply didn't work.

The second one wasn't all that perfect either.

Chuck Lorre, one of the creators, hated one scene from the-pilot-that-stuck so much that he went so far as to remove it from the TBBT reruns altogether (and he was right to do so, as when you watch it, it's almost like you can't recognize the characters at all).

The scene featured Sheldon and Leonard going to the high-IQ sperm bank to donate their sample and get a few extra bucks to pay for a new bandwidth for their apartment.

There's one way to make money, we suppose…

Imagine if Lorre had kept the scene in the show. The joke about Sheldon being "a semi-pro" at donating sperm alone would throw all the canon regarding Sheldon's sexual unawareness out the window!

In an interview for Jessica Radloff's The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series (via Digital Spy), Jim Parsons shared his thoughts on the deleted scene, saying that it "didn't bother" him at the time.

The actor then added that the scene started seeming "out of place" over time, but the producers weren't at fault.

Many shows' pilots are very different from the rest of the episodes – it is just the industry standard, really. The Big Bang Theory was no exception.

Parsons went on to mention that "nobody knew who Sheldon was yet, so the live audience accepted it for what it was."

That seems logical as at that point Sheldon was just a weirdo with a passion for science, and that's it.

The actor supported Lorre's decision to cut the scene in the reruns because it would only give "confusing information" (and we don't need that).

Jim felt that the episode ended up being "much stronger and more special" in the end. We couldn't agree more, even though the scene itself is amusing to watch!
