How I Met Your Father S3: What Are The Chances Of That Happening?
When are we going to find out who the father is?
Since its release in 2022, How I Met Your Father has received a lot of controversial comments from fans. On the one hand, people want the spin-off to be more like its parent series, How I Met Your Mother. But on the other hand, many argue that giving the show its own unique feel and focus would make it more compelling to watch. Which side are you on?
The debate continued throughout Season 1 and until the Season 2 finale, which aired on July 11. So now, the main question is: Will Season 3 of HIMYF happen? And if so, which narrative approach will it adopt?
While part of the fandom believes that the approach of the first season (following the HIMYM vibe and featuring cameos from OG cast members) was the best way to make the new show successful, many found the Season 2 approach much more rewarding. The recent season had no references to the parent show whatsoever and spent lots of time developing new characters, making viewers more invested in their stories.
As for Season 3, no official announcement has been made about whether it will be filmed. It looks like Hulu is still making up its mind and hasn't yet renewed HIMYF for another season. However, fans are quite confident that the streaming platform will announce Season 3 soon, as HIMYF Season 2 was actually one of the most watched shows during its run.
Besides, if they weren't going to make at least one more season, the show's writers wouldn't have left us with so many cliffhangers. We still have to find out how Drew will help Val and Charlie become a family, what's in store for Sid and Hannah, and if Jesse and Sophie are going to make it this time.
In addition, there's one more thing that gives fans hope: Season 2 featured as many as 20 episodes, unlike the premiere season, which only had 10. This means that the show's popularity has grown considerably, and there is no reason for Hulu to cancel HIMYF at this point.
