Prepare your editing tools, a big storm is coming.

Summary:

  • House of The Dragon is an HBO prequel to the hit fantasy series Game of Thrones.
  • The show premiered back in 2022 and was renewed for a second season after one episode.
  • Now the fans are waiting for season 2 to be released, and new characters to be introduced.

Every TV show, movie, or video game that has a few expressive and charismatic characters has its own fandom somewhere in a corner of the Internet. It may be a large group of people pushing the hashtags on social media to support their favorites, or a small community on Discord that prefers to stay more private.

Either way, fandoms are a great way for media obsessives to expand the universe to their liking, adding to the lore or even the relationships between characters that don't have them.

The House of the Dragon fandom, however, is fortunate enough to have all the tools in the world to make their fantasies come true.

First of all, the show is based on the book series by George R.R. Martin, with the only difference from Game of Thrones being that the books are all finished. The way the story is told through three different, but all somewhat unreliable narrators, leaves a lot of room for discussion and conjecture.

Second, there were a lot of people invested in the show and the Targaryen House long before House of The Dragon was even created. Of course, not every Game of Thrones stan could forgive HBO for the series finale, but many were hopeful and forgiving enough to return. They have become the foundation of the community.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, the cast of the show is always open to interpretation. As demonstrated by Olivia Cooke and Emma D'Arcy, who portrayed the adult versions of Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of the show, they are quite open to discussing the second senses of the story.

Jacaerys Velaryon And Cregan Stark In HoTD Season 2

One of the main focuses of the final episodes of season 1 was the journey of Jacaerys Velaryon, the eldest son of Rhaenyra, to Winterfell to meet Cregan Stark and pledge his support for Team Black in an upcoming battle with the Greens. In the book, the young prince spends quite a bit of time in the North, and the show will certainly follow the same path.

What makes the show different is that House of the Dragon casting directors decided to cast Cregan Stark to be closer in age to 19-year-old Harry Collett, who portrays Jacaerys. According to recent rumors, 22-year-old Tom Taylor has been cast as the head of the House of Stark, and he will have quite a run-in with Collett.

While no one can say for sure what exactly awaits the two characters together, as the writers of House of The Dragon are already known to change the story from the books to better fit the narrative of the show, the audience is already being mercilessly teased.

In a recently posted and then deleted TikTok, Harry Collett joined the trend of sharing pictures of loved ones. The only difference is that the actor decided to mention Cregan Stark (presumably Tom Taylor) as the person behind the camera. As you can imagine, the fandom went wild.

Whether the video was removed because of Collett's personal preference or because of House of the Dragon's promotional guidelines, we don't know. But what we do know is that fans can't wait to see season 2. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the summer of 2024. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
