Rhaenyra and Daemon are definitely a power couple, and their wedding scene impressed a lot of viewers, but fans have their own suggestions on who Daemon should have chosen (and it's not Rhaenyra).

When the first episode of House of the Dragon just came out, the audience already predicted that Alicent and Daemon would get romantically involved.

During the first episode tournament, Daemon defeats Alicent's relative, after which he approaches the girl and asks for a sign of attention.

Alicent gives Daemon a wreath of flowers and says, "Good luck, my prince." The scene is very short, but some felt the underlying tension between the two characters.

This turned out to be enough to start the mechanism for generating theory and writing fanfiction about this pairing.

Fans have even suggested that Daemon could be the father of Aemond, who we now know is the son of King Viserys and Alicent.

"What if Daemon forces himself onto Alicent during this episode and the resulting child is Aemond. Aemond loooks literally like a younger version of Daemon," Reddit user abcs12349 suggested.

Although it's hard to imagine Daemon and Alicent now that Daemon and Rhaenyra are the show's main couple, many fans agree that their union would not only be pleasant on the outside, but also quite logical in terms of palace intrigue.

If Otto had chosen the strategy of turning his main enemy into an ally by arranging Alicent's marriage to him instead of to the king, it is quite possible that the fate of the Hightower family would have been different.

Fans also note that Alicent is very good at manipulating and winning people over, which would have helped with Otto's plan.

However, the fans are not that far away from the truth at all. In the books, the court jester Mushroom spreads the rumor that Daemon deflowered Alicent.

According to him, this is what made Otto hate Daemon so much. The creators of House of the Dragon decided to completely abandon this storyline, as they felt that it could interfere with the proper development of Alicent's character.

The fans will not be able to find out how the fight between the Blacks and the Greens will develop any time soon. There is no official release date for the second season yet, but most likely it will be aired in the summer of 2024.
