The Blacks are likely to get themselves one more unique dragonrider ahead of the approaching war.

House of the Dragon season 2 is only a couple of episodes away from finally unveiling everything kept in store for the upcoming battles between the Blacks and the Greens, and the former have been way luckier in their preparations for the war.

The second installment’s latest episodes made it clear that Rhaenyra, backed by her son and so far wisest advisor Jacaerys, was about to give a boost to her chances for a victory by introducing new dragonriders for some of Dragonstone’s fire-spitting creatures that hadn’t been claimed yet.

The show still has enough time to see those dragons finding a right master for the approaching fights, yet the latest episode proved there could be more beasts out there waiting for Rhaenyra’s actions to get them on her side.

Season 2 episode 6, titled Smallfolk, was a vaster voyage across Westerosi lands to reach the Vale where Rhaenyra sent Rhaena to take care of the former’s youngest sons and keep an eye on a bunch of yet unhatched dragon eggs, as well as on a tiny, recently born dragon.

Having a walk around the castle, Rhaena stumbles upon a completely burnt area covered with dead sheep.

She is quick to surmise that something like this would surely include a dragon and later finds out that there’s a wild dragon somewhere out there, but not so many believe it can ever be claimed.

Considering all the circumstances, the dragon in question is surely Sheepstealer that, according to George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, will get its own dragonrider and join Rhaenyra’s forces, despite being a wild creature.

In the book, Sheepstealer forms a bond with Nettles, a dragonseed that most likely was Sheepstealer’s only rider till the very end.

House of the Dragon is yet to introduce both Sheepstealer and Nettles, though some sources suggest that the former will rather be embodied by Rhaena herself, which may indicate Sheepstealer’s approaching introduction to the series in case this theory turns out to be true.

House of the Dragon episode 7 is set to hit Max on July 28.
