House of the Dragon: Even Team Black Supporters Hate This Team Black Character
Most painful part about her in the TV show? She was great in the books.
With the House of the Dragon fans eagerly awaiting the second season, heated debates about the first one continue up to this day in the show's subreddit. The fandom is divided into two groups just like the characters on the show are — team Black and team Green supporters.
But even one's favorite group have members that are just too annoying to support. For team Black stans, it's Rhaenys Targaryen.
Many people's favorite book character, the show's version of Rhaenys just seems to get on everyone's nerves — and for team Black supporters, it's especially painful, because, well, you're supposed to root for her.
However, House of the Dragon fans can't stand Rhaenys for being way too righteous and full of herself for someone who can easily kill dozens of innocent people just to scare Team Green (and not even take them out after all).
Despite her bad karma, Rhaenys can't miss a chance to tell everyone what a great queen she would be (but never was, duh).
"Rhaenys is so blind to her own privilege as a Princess and a dragonrider that she looks down on women for being unable to fight male dominance, yet she still meekly obeys everything Corlys decides," Redditor FMCrunk noted.
Rhaenys' never-ending whining about never sitting on the Iron Throne makes House of the Dragon fans wish Alicent "shanked" her — even though they actually root for The Black Queen, Rhaenyra Targaryen, to win.
Who knows, though? Maybe in House of the Dragon season 2, Rhaenys will try and redeem herself for that unnecessary dragon move on Aegon's coronation. After all, when the fans of your own team hate you, it speaks volumes.
The premiere date for House of the Dragon season 2 is yet to be set.
