Have you missed the uneasy feeling 'Game of Thrones' used to leave you after every episode? It's back.

Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'House of the Dragon ' episode 2

The 'Game of Thrones ' universe has never been the most wholesome fictional world you could escape to from the problems of the real world. Even bizarre incest has long been a part of it – after all, the sick love between Jaime and Cersei is one of the centerpieces of the original show.

'House of the Dragon', however, seems to be on a mission to push the boundaries of weird stuff even further by having Lord Corlys actually bidding his 12-year-old child to King Viserys for marriage. It's not just about the fact that his daughter Laena is so young; it's also about her being Viserys' cousin.

It's not exactly uncommon for the Targaryens to be practicing incest, but Laena's age appeared to have made it extremely creepy for fans.

The entire thing around Viserys' new wife apparently feels a little bizarre to fans – the show puts it like there are simply no other women for Viserys to choose from and not somehow be creepy about it.

"Her and his daughter's bestie are the only options? no other women? WOMEN." – @ch_cheeks

Some people even deem it to be the writers' mistake that makes the show look cheap in terms of storytelling.

"Someone needs to get the dragons to burn the writers for allowing these ridiculous wigs to make it to the screen. Looks low budget." – @BenKreiselman

Even though the showrunners have promised that 'House of the Dragons' would not concentrate solely on gore and sex, it seems that the 'Game of Thrones' prequel is still heavily reliant on "icky" things and shock value. It still comes with beautiful visuals, compelling characters and an intriguing story that is about to form; but the amount of disgusting things surely seems to be irritating to some fans.

'House of the Dragon' episode 2 is currently streaming on HBO Max. New episodes arrive every Sunday.
