HotD Targaryens Are Carbon Copy of Game of Thrones' Lannisters, Here's Proof
Two great families have ruled Westeros for centuries. However, some viewers believe that they are connected by something more than just a lust for power and blond hair.
The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros have been the backdrop for many power struggles and rivalries in George Martin 's epic fantasy. While these two families may seem very different, they actually have a surprising number of similarities that make them more alike than you might think.
Both the Lannisters and the Targaryens have a strong sense of their own strength and entitlement. The Lions, famous for their wealth and cunning, have always believed that their family name should command respect and authority.
Similarly, the Dragons, with their long history of ruling Westeros, have always considered themselves the rightful rulers of the Seven Kingdoms. There is a certain arrogance to these houses that comes from a deep-seated belief in their own superiority.
Both houses have had their fair share of controversy and scandal. The Lannisters are notorious for their complex family dynamics and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect their interests.
From Cersei's incestuous relationship with her brother Jaime to Tyrion's trial for the murder of King Joffrey, the Lannisters have been involved in numerous incidents that have tarnished their reputations.
The Targaryens, on the other hand, have had their own share of explosive relationships, most notably the incestuous marriages that were common among them. These scandals not only shaped their own lives, but also had a profound effect on the fate of the Seven Kingdoms.
But the most notable story, of course, is the sexual relationship within the family. The Lannisters, like the Dragons, have exclusively placed their children on the throne. In fact, Jaime has mentioned on more than one occasion that the Lions are carrying on their line as if they were the kings of old.
However, comparing the brother-sister relationship on Game of Thrones to the bond between Rhaenyra and Daemon does not sit well with many fans.
Redditor HurryOk7829 even seems to think that the heir to the throne was sexually abused as a young girl. And while Cersei and Jaime had physical pleasures with each other, Daemon took the princess by brute force.
But the two families are very similar, especially in the shows. Maybe the writers were really inspired by Game of Thrones, or maybe they decided to follow the proven storytelling paths of the HBO hit.
