Despite the show's massive popularity, only one House of the Dragon actor has received a Golden Globes nomination — and not everyone is okay with the choice.

House of the Dragon fans are on fire as nominations for Golden Globes 2023 arrive, as the show only received 2 nominations, and Emma D'Arcy turned out to be the only cast member whose acting performance received a nod.

The rest of the cast, including Olivia Cooke ( Alicent), Matt Smith ( Daemon), and — most importantly, according to fans — Paddy Considine (King Viserys), were snubbed by the awards. In the wake of the frustrating nomination line-up, HotD fans are rioting online.

People can't wrap their minds around the fact that D'Arcy was the only one to receive recognition from Golden Globes, especially after multiple online campaigns demanded that Paddy Considine's King Viserys receive nominations for all awards possible.

The character has bowed out of the season as one of the biggest fan favorites, and Considine's performance definitely deserved a nod, people believe.

"I can get Matt and Olivia, they were good but not outstanding to me, but Paddy? He convinced me he was a living corpse and I was genuinely surprise to see him dancing around in bts clips because I forgot for a second it was acting," Twitter user BooksonFire_DE noted.

Many fans have labeled the Golden Globe snub the "robbery of the year", even though people immediately launched their own Dance of the Dragons online, arguing who deserves Golden Globe recognition the most.

"In my opinion, Paddy and Olivia deserve better. They haven't been nominated for anything when they gave some of the best performances in the show thus far," Twitter user Deedamai said.

Other people, on the contrary, believe that "the only actor in the show that was any good was Matt Smith", and the Game of Thrones prequel itself is "way overrated".

Still, no matter the outrage online, House of the Dragon will compete in 2 categories at Golden Globes. Aside from Emma D'Arcy's Best Television Actress in a Drama Series nomination, the show itself will fight for the title of Best Drama Series.

The 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
