HoTD Fans Won't Accept S2 Without This Unexpected Character Making An Appearance

As the premiere of House of The Dragon season 2 approaches, fans on both sides of the fandom are getting more and more excited.

Whether your heart is with Rhaenyra and Team Black, or Alicent and Team Green, you are in for a wild ride in the upcoming season.

Though there's already a whole list of details from George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood that fans are eager to see on screen, one particular character's appearance feels especially important, even more so after the creators teased the season would focus more on the children and their role in the war.

Baela Targaryen, one of the twin daughters of Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon, whose tragic death we saw in season 1, is set to become one of the key figures in the story.

Betrothed to Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, her cousin and Rhaenyra's son, fans expect her to have much more screen time and character.

One of the traits she was always meant to have in the original story is a certain fearlessness and wildness, close to her father's. Perhaps that explains the odd choice of pet that fans have been clamoring to see on screen.

Being a Velaryon and having the resources of the wealthiest Westerosi family gave Baela the opportunity to pick and choose what she wanted from the exotic merchants of the world.

Loved by both her father and her grandsons, who saw their late daughter in both girls, she was able to acquire a pet monkey as her faithful companion.

While the focus of House of The Dragon will likely remain on the dragons themselves, viewers are still hoping that HBO will find a way to include the monkey in Baela's story, at least for brief moments in one of the episodes.

After all the changes they have already made to the story, that little nod to the original would be appreciated.
