Hot Take: The Office’s Dwight Is Not Crazy, And Jim Is Kinda Boring 

The Office is one of the most iconic series in TV history. The last episode of the show aired 10 years ago, but it’s still the one fans binge-watch when they want to have a fun time or are just missing their favorite characters.

When you first watch the show, it's easy to pick favorites because you're meeting all the characters for the first time, and you can't deeply analyze their personalities because you don't know how they're going to behave in the episodes to come.

But after several binge-watches, your perception of the characters can sometimes change. A recent Reddit discussion about The Office characters Jim and Dwight, for example, provided some insight.

“I remember perceiving Jim as a "good guy" and Dwight as a borderline crazy person. But now I find Jim dull and boring. While Dwight is kinda fascinating. Dwight has a whole bunch of odd hobbies and interests. Jim, on the other hand, is a downer. It seems like his only reply to anything is "nah, I'm good",” Redditor Flying_Mage said.

With that said, the fan implied that there were many more layers to Dwight's personality than there were to Jim's. And of course that's because of how their characters were written. If you take those things as fact, it's really hard to argue with them.

Although some fans still found a way to justify their beloved “normie.”

“I also think they didn't give Jim hobbies not because he doesn't have them, but because he isn't invested enough in the job to share about himself. We have always worked with quiet people. Doesn't mean they have no love, they just don't share it,” Redditor Cover_Some said.

Well, it's okay to change your mind about characters and change your favorites. Because every time you watch a show, you are probably a different person in a different life situation, so it is only natural.
