Even the strongest and the most good-looking men were facing unfair treatment in Hollywood.

Everyone knows Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Whether as an amazing bodybuilder, the actor who brought the Terminator to life, or the former governor of California, there's no denying his popularity with the general public.

Even with a long surname and a strong accent, he has managed not only to make a name for himself, but also to turn his shortcomings to his advantage.

If anything, the accent played a crucial role in his success.

Life wasn't always as easy for Schwarzenegger as it seems today. He had to start at the bottom and work his way up the ladder.

At first, coming to Hollywood and becoming an actor wasn't a plan, it was just a dream of his.

A dream that felt close enough to try, but moved further away with every critical comment he received from industry producers.

"I have to say that I'm very fortunate that I've had this extraordinary career. That I was able to bridge over to acting even though the majority of people in Hollywood said it would never happen because of my accent, because of my body being overly developed, and because of my name — that no one would be able to pronounce. All those kinds of excuses," the actor shared during the Q&A after Terminator: Genisys screening.

Although Schwarzenegger doesn't deny the privilege of his position today, jokingly saying how good it is to be him, behind that joke stand years of grinding and hard work.

He had to use a pseudonym to hide his real name, lose a lot of weight on several occasions, put a lot more thought into learning his lines. But it was all worth it in the end.

Despite facing similar obstacles in his political career, the actor already knew how to face them with a stiff lip and make the best of it.

The star is more than grateful for coming to the US, getting his shot, and being given the opportunity to grow in a place he feels is best for him.
