Hold My Throne: 5 Controversial GoT Takes That Put You On Edge
The fan community of Game of Thrones is as conflicting as any other: some issues have always massively divided people, and some seem to have been figured out in the same way by many.
But this makes it even funnier to watch when someone dares to question one of the well-established truths of the fandom.
Let's see some of the opinions that got GoT subreddit users really frustrated.
Ned Stark was not stupid
Eddard Stark is largely perceived as an honorable fool, and most people agree with that.
But some people claim that he only died because of his compassion and not his stupidity. He just wanted to try and save Cercei and her kids from the king's fury.
Daenerys was doomed from the start
While Deny's "sudden" madness and cruelty shocked many of the fans, there's also a different point of view: she's been a monster all this time.
As soon as she had some power and freedom, she would get rid of anyone who wasn't actively supporting her — and her means were cruel. She was the Mad King reincarnated.
Jon Snow is boring
Ex-Lord Commander is largely adored by the audience, and he was even speculated to have become the new king of Westeros.
But quite a few people also state that he was the most boring character in the entire show — and would've made a terrible ruler, too.
On the contrary, Sansa is a great character
It's Jon Snow, but vice versa: Sansa Stark has been receiving a lot of hate for the entire duration of the show, but some claim she's one of the best characters.
Her personal development was definitely interesting to watch, and she deserved way more love from the fans.
The last two seasons were amazing
Amidst the overwhelming hate for seasons 7 and 8, it's pretty refreshing to see some people really enjoy them.
Some even go as far as saying that the last seasons were a great achievement by D&D, who "had to make up seasons 7&8 based on notes from a man whose main objective was to troll his readers."
