Sorry, Harry, all the budget went out on the blonde ones.

What comes to mind when you think of the Targaryens? Chances are that "dragons" and "blonde hair" are the two associations that come to mind.

Of course, in House Of The Dragon, both of those things had to be perfect when the show aired, as all of the viewers' attention would be focused on them.

The CGI of the dragons did not disappoint: starting a bit shaky in the pilot episode, the dragons became the jewel of the show.

All beautifully done and so different, yet true to the descriptions in their respective books, they instantly stole the hearts of many viewers.

The wigs, on the other hand... Reviews have been mixed. While some look incredibly good on screen and fit the actors perfectly, others were a total disappointment to fans who expected much more from Rhaenyra's hair in particular.

Instead of luscious hair in amazing hairstyles with braids, stones, and flowers, they got some seriously frizzy damaged ends and a wedding cake being served on the princess's head.

However, there was one actor who arguably suffered the most from wearing the wig on set. Harry Collett, who portrayed an adult version of Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, Rhaenyra's first-born son, had to wear one of his own.

Not only was he famously not blond, due to the nature of his ancestry, but he looked too silly to be taken seriously.

The brown wig he wore for the rest of the shoot resembled either a very long mullet or a mop that someone accidentally left on the set.

The actor himself, however, isn't in a hurry to blame anyone but himself for this unfortunate look. This is how he explains what happened one day:

"I went for a hair and makeup fitting, and I had short hair, short back, and sides. It looked like I'd come straight from a Turkish barber, which I did. And they were like, 'What are you doing? That's not medieval hair.' I was like, 'Yeah, good point'".

The good news, both for Collett himself and for viewers who aren't ready to suffer through another season with this monstrosity of a wig in the frame, is that it may be dropped during the filming of season 2.

Since this hair mishap, the actor has grown his own dark locks, and now he perfectly matches the look of his on-screen father, Harwin Strong.

There is no official news about the release date of House Of The Dragon season 2, as production has only recently begun.

Keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates to make sure you do not miss any important announcements!
