Here's Why The Handmaid's Tale's June Should End Up With Luke

Even a dystopian world focused on female reproductive abuse and the consequences of a system built on it becomes a lot more fun to watch when there is an actual love triangle involved.

The Handmaid's Tale June's choice, which she will have to make sooner or later, is the main point of discussion among fans as they await season 6.

There are two men in June's life that she feels she can trust. There is Luke: June's husband who lives in Canada with their daughter Nichole. He stays by her side and is faithful to her no matter what happens in Gilead. There is also Nick, a Gilead driver with a very shady past, who is Nichole's biological father.

June's attraction to Nick is understandable, as he is the only person in Gilead who has given her comfort. In a place so dark and dehumanizing, she was able to not only find peace in Nick but feel his support and a certain level of protection. Add to that a man as handsome as Max Minghella portraying him, and you can see why June fell for him.

However, many fans feel that the fling she had shouldn't become an endgame.

Though June made her choice once, at the end of season 4, to leave her family and return to Gilead, she has a chance to reconsider and make things right in season 6. With both of June's lovers imprisoned, Luke taken by the police in Canada, and Nick still in Gilead, she has a chance to help the right one.

No matter how much chemistry Nick and June may have together, they are both deeply traumatized, and, fans believe, their happiness together will be short-lived. In order to find true freedom and break free from Gilead, not only physically but mentally, June needs to return to Luke and the comfort of a real family she once had.

Whether that will happen in season 6, we'll just have to wait and see. For now, there is no official release date announced, so buckle up and keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates on the show.
