Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves are one of the most acclaimed and successful actors of our time and they’re known to respect each other — but Reeves will only agree to work with Cruise under one crucial condition.

There are quite a few actors in the world that can be called A-listers, but there aren’t many who are quite as famous, successful, and praised as Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise.

These two are the immediate leads and scene-stealers of any movie they star in, and for a good reason: the actors are extremely talented and professional.

It’s also known that the actors have quite some mutual respect, and Keanu Reeves has stated multiple times that he admires Cruise’s works and considers him “extraordinary” in many ways. Reeves’ opinion of his colleague is quite remarkable.

“What Tom Cruise does is extraordinary and special and something that... Again, another legend in another universe. <...> His passion for it, his skill, his talent just shines. <...> I think we're just the beneficiaries of his excellence, you know? And he's inspiring,” says Reeves.

Keanu would’ve liked to work with Tom Cruise, but he refuses to do so if one essential condition won’t be met: he doesn’t want to be Cruise’s on-screen adversary. If they get to work together, Reeves has to be on the same side as the Mission: Impossible actor, as he revealed while speaking with ExtraTV.

The fans reacted to Keanu’s notion with excitement: it seems like many action fans would’ve gone to any lengths to see the two actors working together. And honestly, we’re 100% with them on this issue — a movie that features both Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves will totally become the new golden standard for the action genre, that’s for sure.

So take notes, action-movie directors: if you’re willing to write your names in the annals of history, you need to get Cruise onboard — and then offer Keanu to be his partner in the movie. It sounds like a recipe for a masterpiece, but that’s simply because it is.
