Here's Who Might Be The Villain in 'The Batman 2' (And Robert Pattinson's Down For It!)
Now that Matt Reeves' 'The Batman' has been officially greenlit for a sequel, fans once again brought up their ideas for the enemies that the caped crusader might face.
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their ideas about who may be the next villain in the upcoming Batman sequel following its announcement on CinemaCon. And it turns out that the fans' requests and the desire of the male lead, Robert Pattinson, seem to go well together.
One of the most popular requests for the new villain is the Court of Owls – a mysterious crime group that has been in control of Gotham City for centuries. Pattinson, for his part, said several months ago in a Vanity Fair video that he liked the idea of introducing the Court of Owls.
"I was definitely thinking Court of Owls is probably going to be in the sequel," Pattinson said. "I'm literally just guessing, I just keep saying it."
Many fans believe that Pattinson is indeed the best Batman for the Court of Owls storyline. Besides, the tone of the movie looks just right for the crime group.
A lot of people keep pushing a fan theory suggesting that Bruce Wayne's parents are somehow involved in the Court of Owls, and might even be the group's leaders. In fact, some fans have already spotted what could be Easter eggs.
Among other villains that could challenge the caped crusader in the sequel are Bane, Mr. Freeze (also a fan favorite), Two Face, Poison Ivy, or Barry Keoghan's Joker, who have already been teased in the first movie's deleted scenes.
