Here's How to Watch Every Chicago Fire Crossover in Correct Order
Settle in for a crossover extravaganza!
When it started in 2012, no one could have predicted that Chicago Fire would fan the flames of such a popular franchise. But that's exactly what it has become, growing so big that it now has multiple crossover episodes with other Chicago Universe shows, some of which have even spawned other One Chicago spin-offs.
While some fans love the crossover episodes, others feel that they don't really showcase the best of the individual shows, seeing them as a sort of Christmas specials - quirky rather than quality.

Season 1, episode 23: Let Her Go
First aired: May 15, 2013
This episode served as a backdoor pilot for Chicago P.D. Following the death of Hallie, Casey works with the Police Intelligence Unit (now run by Voight) to track down the arsonist.
Season 2, episode 20: A Dark Day
First aired: April 29, 2014
As the CFD and CPD charity run sets off, a huge explosion takes place. Chaos ensues, with police trying to track down the offenders, the public in panic and the fire service tackling the blaze. Mills discovers another bomb while Casey and Severide desperately search for Dawson among the rubble.
This episode starts a crossover with Chicago P.D. that concludes with 8.30 PM episode (S1, E12).
Season 3, episode 7: Nobody Touches Anything
First aired: November 11, 2014
Severide reveals he got married and receives a mixed reception. Mills is concerned about Newhouse, while Severide finds a box containing concerning photos of children following a basement fire.
This episode is the start of a crossover with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Chicago P.D. that continues on Chicago Crossover (S16, E7) and ends with They'll Have to Go Through Me (S2, E7).
Season 3, episode 13: Three Bells
First aired: February 3, 2015
Severide starts to build the case against the arsonist responsible for Shay’s death. Meanwhile, the crew celebrate Shay’s life with a memorial service.
Shay’s sister visits Firehouse 51 and Otis invites his grandmother to stay without Cruz’s permission.
This episode starts a crossover with Chicago P.D. that ends with A Little Devil Complex (S2, E13).
Season 3, episode 19: I am the Apocalypse
First aired: April 7, 2015
The backdoor pilot for Chicago Med, this crossover sees the team taking victims of a chemical leak to the ER. And as if things aren’t bad enough, a man with a grenade turns up threatening to let off a deadly airborne disease.
Season 3, episode 21: We Called Her Jellybean
First aired: April 28, 2015
Chili receives a lukewarm reception as the new PIC on Ambulance 61. 51 responds to a fire connected to a case of rape and attempted murder, while Rice comes under suspicion.
The arson investigation sees the CPD work with the Special Victims Unit.
This episode starts a crossover that includes Chicago P.D. and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit that continues with The Number of Rats (S2, E20) and concludes with Daydream Believer (S16, E20).
Season 4, episode 10: The Beating Heart
First aired: January 5, 2016
Hermann is rushed to the ER after being stabbed and needs emergency surgery. Cruz goes searching for the perpetrator while Severide is reinstated as Lieutenant. Borelli is increasingly concerned about Chili's erratic behaviour.
This episode starts a crossover with Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. that continues on Malignant (S1, E5) and finishes with Now I'm God (S3, E10).
Season 5, episode 9: Some Make It, Some Don’t
First aired: January 3, 2017
Casey and Dawson must start a custody battle while a series of ping pong tournaments is arranged at the Firehouse.
Severide is told he’s a bone marrow match for a patient. But the drink is tempting him again. Firehouse 51 later attends a hit-and-run that involves Severide’s car.
This episode opens a crossover with Chicago P.D. which concludes with Don't Bury This Case (S4, E9).
Season 5, episode 15: Deathtrap
First aired: March 1, 2017
51 responds to a warehouse fire with multiple victims trapped inside. One of those caught in the blaze is Alvin Olinsky’s daughter who is found fighting for her life. When it becomes clear the fire was deliberate, 51 enlists the support of the CPD.
Severide tries to contact Anna.
This episode starts a crossover with Chicago P.D. and Chicago Justice that continues with Emotional Proximity (S4, E16) and concludes with Fake (S1, E01).
Season 6, episode 13: Hiding Not Seeking
First aired: March 8, 2018
Voight requests that Dawson and Brett go undercover to assist with an investigation into a serial bomber. Casey, Boden and Severide also pitch in to help. Kidd's relationship with Zach is threatened when she realises she still holds a torch for Severide.
This episode concludes a crossover with Chicago P.D. that begins with Profiles (S5, E16).
Season 7, episode 2: Going to War
First aired: October 3, 2018
Jay and Will Halstead’s father is one of many victims caught in a 25-storey apartment block fire, during which Severide makes a daring rescue.
The new Assistant Deputy Commissioner is keeping a close eye on Boden, while Casey and Brett are still coming to terms with Dawson’s departure. Foster opens up about her past.
This episode launches a crossover with Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. that continues with When to Let Go (S4, E2) and finishes with Endings (S6, E2).
Season 7, episode 15: What I Saw
First aired: February 20, 2019
On Voight’s request, Cruz is sent undercover at another Firehouse as part of an investigation into a series of robberies at an apartment complex.
Kidd goes on a date with one of her call victims.
This episode starts a crossover with Chicago P.D. that ends with Good Men (S6, E15).
Season 8, episode 4: Infection: Part I
First aired: October 16, 2019
Casey assists a man with a flesh-eating bacteria on his leg. Pretty soon, other victims of the disease are identified and it becomes apparent this is a major outbreak.
51 attends an incident at a biological research university and concludes it’s arson. But it appears the prime suspect may also be a victim.
Cruz intends to propose to his girlfriend Chloe and Boden is unpopular as he chooses his firehouse to be on duty during the Oktoberfest festivities.
The episode starts a three-part crossover that includes Infection: Part II (S5, E4) on Chicago Med and Infection: Part III on Chicago P.D. (S7, E4).
Season 8, episode 15: Off the Grid
First aired: February 26, 2020
A group of teenagers who overdose on fake Oxy is suspected to include the sister of Chicago patrol officer Sean Roman. He knows she was last seen in the vicinity and is keen to protect her. Meanwhile, Severide finds out who sold her drugs.
Casey tries to convince Brett to meet her biological mother.
This episode is the first in a two-part crossover with Chicago P.D. that ends with Burden of Truth (S7, E15).
