Recently ex-Beatle Ringo Starr tweeted that he had "another great night with Jimmy Kennel" and it seems that 81 years old musician mixed the names of two famous American television hosts – Kimmel and Fallon. His misspelling turned out to be prophetic.

This April Fools' Day Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel actually swapped places and came on each other's shows. Kimmel hosted NBC's 'The Tonight Show from New York and Fallon – ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live from Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles.

It took them four years to pull off this swap. It was Kimmel who suggested this epic prank several years ago. Both hosts have recently become friendly and the idea seemed quite crazy to seize it. But to bring the prank to life meant to swap cities, staffs and networks. That's why it took them so long. Moreover, they tried to keep the whole thing a secret: only several producers and network executives were let in on the gag.

The audiences of both shows just couldn't stop clapping and cheering. Everybody was so impressed. They couldn't believe their eyes. "This is television at its best. Totally classic humor. Bravo to both hosts, guests, audiences and networks", a popular YouTube comment reads. "The smile on my face won't go, this is by far the best most innocent prank I've seen!"

In an interview to The Hollywood Reporter Jimmy Fallon revealed that he is not really a prank guy, so he didn't know if they could actually pull this off. "Two seconds before they announced me, I was nervous. I was like, "I hope they like me", he says.
