Here's How Daemon Targaryen Eventually Dies on House of the Dragon
If he dies at all.
If you are as obsessed with the rogue prince Daemon Targaryen magnificently played by Matt Smith as millions of fans, you've probably been wondering what awaits your favorite character in the episodes to come. The majority wonder when and how Daemon dies in the story.
Huge spoilers about Daemon's death and a little bit of his life are ahead, obviously. Fans say Daemon's death is going to be the highlight of the whole House of the Dragon series, so probably don't go any further to not get spoiled. You've been warned!
Rhaenyra and Daemon Age Difference Isn't the Most Sickening Thing About Their Relationship
So why is the death of Daemon Targaryen considered to be the most epic and iconic of all deaths in the Game of Thrones franchise and even the book series? According to the Fire and Blood book, Daemon will eventually end up dueling with his nephew Aemond in the Battle Above the Gods Eye. Actually, it will be a visually stunning battle with four participants: Daemon, Aemond, and their dragons, Caraxes and Vhagar, who are believed to be the most powerful in Westeros. To the dismay of all House of the Dragon fans and dragon lovers, all four participants are destined to die in this battle.
Before going down, Daemon will stab his sword into Aemond's remaining eye – what's with Aemond and his eyes, right? – so hard it will come out of the prince's throat. At last, Vhagar and Caraxes will crash into a lake and drown, presumably taking their riders with them.
While the bodies of dragons and Prince Aemond will all found later, the remains of Daemon will never be recovered. After being mentioned in the book, this fact has invited a myriad of fan theories about Daemon being alive.
Biggest House of the Dragon Star Hates His Own Character, and Honestly? We Get It
Some believe Daemon survived and lived the rest of his life with Nettles, another dragon rider Daemon had a close relationship with. Some say Daemon was rescued by the Green Men and has himself become one. It would make him alive even during Game of Thrones events. Still, the majority of fans think Daemon died and was buried on the Isle of Faces.
The creators of House of the Dragon have already shown their willingness to spare a character. Remember the resurrection of Laenor Velaryon? So it is very likely that with the mystery of Daemon's missing body, the show will take a creative turn and – who knows – surprise us with an alternative fate for Daemon Targaryen.
