Here Is How Fans Could Save 'Mindhunter' Season 3
'Mindhunter' series will not return for a third season, but, according to the show's director, there's still hope.
David Fincher's series centered on a group of FBI profilers trying to get inside the minds of famous serial killers, including Ed Kemper and Charles Manson.
Netflix 's 'Mindhunter ' was one the best true-crime series out there, with great script, solid direction from impressive slate of filmmakers including David Fincher, and wonderful performances from all the actors involved. So the news of show's indefinite hiatus after just two seasons came as a shock to fans. At the moment it seems that all hope is lost, but is this really the case?
Asif Kapadia, director of several episodes of the first season, encouraged fans to take to social media with a petition urging Netflix to greenlit another season of the series and basically "make some noise" to actually be heard.
"Audiences around the world need let Netflix know that there is a real interest & demand for Season 3 of 'Mindhunter,'" Kapadia tweeted. "If you make enough noise, it might actually happen…"
While fans supported director's decision, there is still the question of David Fincher's involvement. Speaking to Vulture a couple of years ago, Oscar-winning filmmaker expressed his exhaustion with the series, stating that "on some level, you have to be realistic about dollars have to equal eyeballs," referencing show's notoriously high budget and small viewership numbers.
So, what's next for 'Mindhunter'? Only time will tell if Netflix will listen to fans' pleas to bring back their favorite series.
