Henry Cavill is all over the internet lately as he's jumping into any project he feels passionate about. Now he aims at reviving another franchise he loves… The one you probably never even heard about.

Even though a large portion of the modern audience doesn't know much about it, Highlander was incredibly popular back in its time.

That time has passed long ago, however, as the first Highlander movie came out in 1986, and the franchise kept slowly degrading with each of the next six movies.

Its former glory still attracts old-time fans — and can attract even more new ones, believes Henry Cavill. He's not alone, and the man who shares his opinion has a matching rock-solid reputation (if not a bigger one).

It's Chad Stahelski, the John Wick director, and he'll be in charge of the massive Highlander reboot.

Having produced admittedly the best action movies Hollywood has ever seen, he has many eyes on him — and he plans to use this moment to give a second life to an old, brilliant, and almost forgotten Highlander franchise.

For a revival of this scale, Stahelski needs stars who would back him up with passion, and he found one in Henry Cavill.

The actor's experience and love for old-school fantasy projects match Stahelski's ambition perfectly, and they are reportedly both absolutely excited to work together on this project.

Last summer, Stahelski confirmed that the Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill is happening.

While it's undisclosed officially what role the actor will take, we're pretty confident he will take over Connor McLeod, the lead immortal and the main character of the franchise.

Henry Cavill is very invested in this reboot, and their vision is admittedly very similar to Stahelski's.

The director has been going on about how crucial mythology is for Highlander and how it must be properly explored in the series, and it matches Henry Cavill's well-known faithfulness to the source material which was partly the reason he had to leave Netflix 's The Witcher.

Since this collaboration is definitely happening, it's more than likely we'll soon see the unexpected grand revival of Highlander.

With giants like Chad Stahelski and Henry Cavill onboard, there's hardly room for failure, but we'll have to wait and see how the actor manages to fit this role with his upcoming Warhammer 40K project.
