Helen Mirren Rumored To Join The Boys Cast in The Most Disturbing Role
If that is true, they might need to include some warnings before Deep's scenes.
If you have ever seen at least a few episodes of The Boys, you know that nothing is off-limits for this show.
All kinds of cruelty, abuse, and gore have always been mixed with dark humor and incorporated into the plot.
One could argue that the violence itself is a main character of The Boys, since it drives everyone's motivation.
But somehow, the writers still manage to come up with more disturbing scenes and lines that keep the audience on the edge of their seats wondering what's going to happen next.
One of the most outstanding moments of season 3 was Homelander's dinner with the Deep, where he brings out a specialty in the form of a live octopus named Timothy.
The pure horror of the scene is mixed with irony: to get back to The Seven, Deep has to swallow something he doesn't want.
But that doesn't stop the audience from frowning at the fate of the poor creature, who begs for mercy while Homelander sadistically enjoys the show.
You'd think there couldn't be anything more disturbing than this in season 4, but The Boys always have something much worse in store.
According to the Midgard Times, Helen Mirren is rumored to appear in the show to voice another octopus, Ambrosia... with whom Deep has a sexual relationship.
It is unclear whether we can trust these rumors or not, but there was already a chance for Helen Mirren to appear as a voice actress in The Boys. She would have been the voice of Deep's gills.
Chace Crawford, who portrays the hero, took showrunner Eric Kripke's sentiment as a joke at the time, but looking at these rumors now, who knows what else he might have in mind.
Whether Helen Mirren will appear in The Boys season 4 or not remains to be seen.
The filming has already finished and the episodes are now being edited, so fans are waiting for the release date to be announced soon.
Keep an eye out and don't miss any behind-the-scenes updates!
