This show was a lot not only for the audience but for the actors as well.

If you felt sick while watching some parts of Game of Thrones, imagine how the actors felt while filming them.

Getting into character and experiencing all the emotions they feel can be overwhelming, and having the support of your cast and crew around you is certainly one of the things that can help tremendously.

While all of the murder, nudity, violence, and gore were traumatizing enough, there were other issues that were seemingly less harmful, but just as emotionally devastating.

The relationships between characters, whether romantic or familial, were rarely healthy. More often than not, characters had to deal with the toxicity or betrayal of those closest to them.

Of course, being in such an intense state of mind all the time took a toll on some of the actors, who had to take real-life measures to deal with it.

Charles Dance, who portrayed Tywin Lannister, found peace by constantly apologizing to his co-star and on-screen son Peter Dinklage, who portrayed Tyrion.

The relationship between father and son was always far from warm, with Tywin often throwing extremely offensive remarks at his son and making him feel terrible about himself.

Charles Dance had to step in and make sure that Dinklage knew how remorseful he was for saying all those things to him during filming.

"I spend a lot of time with Peter Dinklage and he's the most adorable man. After all those scenes, I apologize to him every time. I have to treat him like s**t," the actor admitted at the UK's screening of the opening episode of season three.

Interestingly, Tywin Lannister does not seem to be a very good father to any of his children, including Jaime and Cersei.

So perhaps Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Lena Headey, the actors behind those respective characters, would also appreciate an apology. Hopefully, no one holds a grudge either way.

If you're feeling nostalgic and want to give HBO's darkest hit a rewatch, Game of Thrones is available to stream on MAX, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Videos.
