‘He Is Diabolical': 7 Hollywood A-Listers Who Hate Tom Cruise (and Their Reasons)
Despite him being one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, there are still quite a few Hollywood celebrities that are not afraid to call him out for being “diabolical.”
7. Brooke Shields
In 2005, Tom Cruise publicly criticized Brooke Shields for using antidepressants during her postpartum depression, calling her “irresponsible” and claiming that it was her dependence on these drugs that was to blame for Shields’s lack of success.
“Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens and let women who are experiencing postpartum depression decide what treatment options are best for them," the actress stated.
6. Alec Baldwin
In 2009, Alec Baldwin suddenly jumped Tom Cruise, without the latter present, during his speech at Elle magazine's annual Women in Hollywood dinner. Baldwin essentially blamed Cruise for all the gender pay inequality in Hollywood.
"I believe we can balance the scales if Tom Cruise would lower his quote by a mere $29 million. <...> I really don't want to put this all on one man, but if I had to, that man would be Tom Cruise,” Baldwin claimed.
5. Mark Wahlberg
In 2013, TMZ published an admittedly misleading report claiming that Tom Cruise compared his work in the Middle East as an actor with the treatment of American soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. That pissed off many, Mark Wahlberg included.
"How f*cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours... I don't give a sh*t if you get your ass busted. You get to go home at the end of the day. You get to go to your hotel room. You get to order your f*cking chicken," Wahlberg fumed.
4. Leah Remini
After years spent as a Scientologist, Leah Remini admittedly dedicated the rest of her life to saving other people from becoming part of this religion, and in 2017, she went especially hard on Scientology’s biggest advocate — Tom Cruise himself.
“There is a public persona of the guy who looks at you directly in the eye and shakes your hand and hugs you, <...> but the people who are around Tom and work for Tom, not even people who are Scientologists, they will say he is diabolical," Leah shared.
3. Mickey Rourke
In 2022, Mickey Rourke explained his opinion on why Tom Cruise is no good as an actor. Apparently, Rourke holds no respect for Cruise and “his kind” and claims that the Mission: Impossible actor is all about money and power and not talent.
“[Cruise starring in the most successful movie of 2022] doesn’t mean sh*t to me. [He’s] been doing the same part for 35 effing years. I got no respect for that. I don’t care about money or power. <...> I think he’s irrelevant,” slammed him Rourke.
2. Judd Apatow
In 2023, Judd Apatow repeatedly bashed Tom Cruise during his monologue at the Director’s Guild of America. There’s no reason for Apatow’s that we’re aware of, but apparently, something that happened between them led to such harsh words.
“The special effects in Maverick were so top-notch, I couldn’t even see the stack of phone books Tom Cruise sat on to reach the flight controls. <...> The only thing he seems to be afraid of is co-parenting and antidepressants," Apatow kept roasting.

Having spent many years as part of the Scientology church, the famous musician’s daughter got to interact with all the Hollywood’s finest who were part of this religion including Tom Cruise. In 2023, Lisa Marie revealed how much she resented the man.
