Harry Potter’s TV Adaptation Can Finally Make It Up To an Unfairly Forgotten Character and His Sacrifice
And his death was brutally ignored even in the books.
Summary:
- Harry Potter ’s movie series featured a lot of characters who never got to live till the finale and many of them were treated properly upon their passing, but one particular character stands out in this case.
- Though he appeared in earlier movies, the character got to play a crucial role in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows where he sadly died, but the plot generally overlooked this moment.
- Harry Potter’s upcoming TV remake may finally give the character the recognition that he deserved all this time.
Over the course of the plot Harry Potter’s books and films featured a lot of characters whose fate was far from being fair, especially in the series’ finale — yet many of them still received a decent farewell moment that somehow made things a little bit better.
Despite that, there was at least one character whose major role and following death were unjustly overlooked — now it’s only the upcoming TV remake that can right the wrong.
Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows marked a lot of significant characters’ passing and Mad-Eye Moody was one of them — he was killed in the very beginning of the first part during the Battle of the Seven Porters.
Though Mad-Eye Moody may have seemed a harsh and grumpy guy at first, he later on proved to have a big heart and sincere intentions to help Harry in his confrontation with Voldemort.
Mad-Eye Moody’s first appearance is featured in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but he takes up a much more important role in Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix and the later films. Thanks to Mad-Eye Moody, Harry manages to safely escape Privet Drive after the Battle of the Seven Porters where the Battle of the Seven Porters dies.
Despite his key role in Harry Potter’s salvation, Mad-Eye Moody’s death isn’t even given enough credit either in the films or in the books.
In both cases the rest of the team that managed to survive gives a brief mourning moment to the character after the news about the latter’s death reaches everyone — but then they’re all quick to switch to more vital issues like George Weasley’s ear injury (they can’t be blamed for that either, but still).
Now that J.K. Rowling’s books and the film series clearly failed to give Mad-Eye Moody a proper goodbye moment, it’s only the future TV adaptation that gives hopes for the character’s better ending.
As the viewers never got to see how exactly Mad-Eye Moody died and what he did to fight the Death Eaters, this is a big-win idea to finally show the Battle of the Seven Porters from a different perspective — and to prove how much of a great character grumpy Mad-Eye Moody was.
