Harry Potter’s 6 Years at Hogwarts, Ranked by Reddit From Bliss to Hell

Before defeating his lifetime rival, Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter spent 6 years of his life at Hogwarts, where he was assumed to peacefully study the art of magic.
As we perfectly know, it all didn’t go according to the initial plan, as school years were full of trouble of different scale.

Let’s try to arrange Harry’s years from the most quiet to the most tragic one.

1. The Philosopher's Stone - 1st year

Harry’s first year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was relatively calm, even taking the showdown with Quirrell into account. It’s easy to forget life was so easy for the boy who lived in the beginning, when he enters the magic world, gets introduced to Charms, Quidditch and, of course, meets his friends.

2. The Half-Blood Prince - 6th year

The last year before the trio’s hunt for the Horcruxes was like the quiet before the storm, with charming professor Horace Slughorn leading him to greater understanding of magic and Harry’s growing feelings for Ginny Weasley. However, by the end it gets fearful, as we together with Harry lose our beloved Dumbledore.

3. The Prisoner of Azkaban - 3rd year

This year the wizard spends worrying about a mass-murderer, who escaped Azkaban, especially after the gossip that he is planning to kill Harry. However, he is still quite safe under the protection of Remus Lupin and has everybody (and not only people) alive after the final battle.

4. The Chamber of Secrets - 2nd year

Here Harry’s position at Hogwarts is complicated with the whole school turning against him, and his helping friend Hagrid gets arrested. And we’re not talking about the beginning with the Dursleys disturbing him to leave and, undoubtedly, the toughest battle with the basilisk and his confrontation with Tom Riddle.

5. The Goblet of Fire - 4th year

During his fourth year of education Harry is in a constant state of mounting fear and anxiety due to the Triwizard Tournament challenges, for which he doesn’t sign himself, and its finale become one of the most traumatic experiences in Harry’s life, who now sees not only Voldermot, but also death by his own eyes.

6. The Order of the Phoenix - 5th year

Tortured by Professors Snape and Umbridge throughout the whole year, forced to create his own oppositional group, Harry was exhausted presumably most of all during his presence at Hogwarts. However, the last knife in his heart becomes the loss of Sirius, the last connection to his family that the boy had.
