Harry Potter has made an impact on our lives by opening up a new Wizarding World with many beloved characters and stories.

Many fans around the world are rereading books and rewatching films to the point that they can recite it all by heart. Still, they find something to discuss and questions that need an answer. Once again Reddit started a discussion which is hard to ignore. And the question is, "What are the great unanswered questions of Harry Potter? "

Fans were very eager to add multiple questions at once, and some were answered by other Redditors, while others led to a further discussion and possible reasons. One of the questions, left by a Redditor under a user name 4ecks, was, "Why did James Potter, in hiding with his family, lend his Invisibility Cloak to Dumbledore?" The question sparked a thread of possible reasons, the most common being, "Potters weren't cautious enough."

The Cloak of Invisibility seems like a very useful tool, given you are trying to hide from someone who wants you and your entire family dead. Perhaps it is not almighty, but what if it could play a vital role in the outcome? What if in a close range, it could've saved at least one of Harry's parents? This could've made a huge impact on the story. And we know how much Potters loved their son, it would've made sense to at least try to have every possible charm, spell, and tool at your disposal that can protect or hide you.

But even if we'll never learn the answer to the why at least we see that many have agreed that it might not even make too much of a difference. A Redditor under the user name AutumnSouls suggested, "I doubt it would have served many purposes if the Fidelius was bypassed. Voldemort would have ripped that house apart even if he couldn't already see through it."

Later in the same thread user that asked the question adds, agreeing and somewhat answering a part of their own question, "The Potters were pretty careless about their Fidelius, making so many misguided decisions that I don't think anything could have stopped Voldemort, whether they had their wands on them, or the Cloak, when he arrived. I'm actually surprised they lasted a whole year in hiding."

We might never know all the answers to all the questions that we raise while going through our favorite stories all over again, but every fan can be sure to find someone with who they can talk about it and find some peace in the search together.
