Neither J.K. Rowling, nor the movies shed light on a certain aspect of Hogwarts life.

We already know so much about the life in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We're well versed in spells and potions, in magical politics and history of Hogwarts.

But there's one little detail that seems not to have been covered in the books or movies as much.

Here we are to delve deep into the most riveting of everyday life's aspects of wizards: bathroom habits and bathing routines. So, yes, let's take a closer look at when and where Harry Potter characters bathe and go to the restroom.

Firstly, it's important (and obvious) to note that the wizarding world is just like our own in many ways, and this includes the need for regular hygiene practices. This is well-established that Hogwarts had bathrooms just like any other school.

For instance, one of the most famous bathrooms in Hogwarts is the one that houses Moaning Myrtle, a ghostly student who haunts the stalls.

But what about the other bathrooms in Hogwarts? Well, it's not impossible that they have been fairly standard, with toilets, sinks, and showers.

However, given the magical nature of the school, it's possible that some of these bathrooms have had unique features that we are not aware of (magically moving stalls, anyone?).

Still, all four Hogwarts houses have plenty of students who wake up every morning and need to go to bath. Do they all go visit Moaning Myrtle?

The whole issue of when and where the Harry Potter characters bathed seems to bother the fans to the point of a surprisingly active Reddit thread.

Pondering on whether Harry has ever bathed in the books and movies, the fans expectedly presumed "that Harry bathed regularly." After all, really, "the books never say that Harry used the toilet, but one can assume that he did that too."

Some fans took another approach to the issue stating jokingly that "Harry held it in for the duration of the series." However sarcastic, no one wants to imagine that.

Overall, the bathroom habits and hygiene practices of the Harry Potter characters are just one small aspect of the rich and detailed world that J.K. Rowling has created.

While it was not that important for the author to emphasize when and where the characters used to bathe and more, it's safe to assume Harry Potter & Co. have maintained their hygiene just like muggles do.

Nice to know we got something in common.
