Harrison Ford Kills All Hope For More Indiana Jones
That's it. Harrison Ford confirms he will not take part in the upcoming television series.
There are few images in cinematic history that are as iconic as Indiana Jones ' brown fedora hat.
It's been forty years since the character first donned that wide-brimmed headgear on the big screen, and yet, even today, if someone wants to instantly label a character as an "adventurer," they'll often dress them up in a fedora and khaki clothing.
But there's only one true Indiana Jones, and that's thanks to the magic of Steven Spielberg 's direction, John Williams' music, and, of course, the inimitable charisma of Harrison Ford.
So, it's no wonder that fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series, even if it won't be helmed by Spielberg himself.
But here comes the devastating news for Indiana Jones fans out there.
In an interview with Total Film magazine, Harrison Ford has dropped a bombshell, announcing that his forthcoming performance in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be his final appearance in the fedora hat.
That's right, after nearly 40 years of playing the daring archaeologist, apparently we will never see him in this role again.
Fans took to Reddit to share their opinion on the news, and many actually think that it would be difficult for a franchise to last long without the iconic performance of Harrison Ford.
It's certainly some sad news for Indiana fans, who have grown to love Ford's portrayal of Indy over the years.
And while there have been rumors of a potential successor to take up the mantle, it seems that no one can quite fill the shoes of the original.
Ford also confirmed that he won't be making an appearance in the upcoming Indiana Jones television series, which is set to debut on Disney Plus next year.
While it's disappointing to hear that we won't see Ford reprise his role in any capacity, we can at least look forward to seeing him go out with a bang in what is sure to be an epic final adventure.
The movie is expected to be released on June 30th, 2023.
