Guess Which MCU Superhero Has Doctor Strange's Coolest Ability as Well, According to Comics
Looks like Stephen Strange is not the only one capable of messing with dimensions.
No MCU villain is overly willing to be messing with Doctor Strange, as he is capable of trapping his adversary in the Mirror dimension, only for the poor thing to be left at the wizard's mercy there.
But it turns out that Strange is not the only one who is able to do the trick – at least according to the comics.
In 'Avengers' #16 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers, Earth's mightiest heroes are fighting the Masters of Evil right in the middle of busy streets of New York. In order to try and shield innocent civilians and nearby buildings, Thor spins his hammer, Mjolnir, and opens a door to another dimension completely free of any form of life.
The God of Thunder transports the Avengers and their rivals there so that the fight can continue in a place where the heroes can easily avoid innocent bypassers getting hurt or killed.
In the MCU, Thor's hammer allowed him to teleport to Asgard, but hardly provided access to the Mirror dimension or other worlds like the one described in the comics. Doctor Strange, in his turn, enjoys his control over the Mirror dimension to defeat enemies – except for the one time he tried to use it against Peter Parker, who is technically his ally.
In 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', Strange used the tactic to trap Peter in the Mirror dimension, but the latter used "the power of math" to essentially turn the Mirror dimension against Strange.
