Grey’s Anatomy Star Teases a Mindblowing Season 21 Premiere: ‘I Was Shooketh’
It won’t be easy to surprise the viewers.
After more than 20 years on television, it can be hard for any show to surprise viewers. This is especially true for ABC's Grey's Anatomy, which has explored what feels like every possible avenue for a medical drama.
Characters have been killed off, the doctors have suffered through some of the most difficult cases, and the patients' stories have been as funny as they have been touching.
But now that the show has been renewed for another season and the cast is getting ready to reunite on set, Grey's has made sure that everyone leaves impressed. At least that's what Camilla Luddington has to say about the script she received.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Release Date
The longest-running medical drama on television will return to ABC on September 26, 2024. And even though the show will be pushed back an hour in the schedule, that doesn't mean it won't be just as compelling as ever. Grey's Anatomy certainly isn't ready to give up its spot on ABC just yet.
Sitting down with another Grey's veteran, Jessica Capshaw, who guest stars on the show in season 20, Camilla Luddington, who portrays Dr. Jo Wilson, teased the very first script she received. Her words were recorded for a podcast called Call It What It Is.
“I woke up this morning, scrolled through my phone and there it was, sitting in my inbox, the premier episode script of Grey's Anatomy season 21. And you know what's so funny and you know this Jess, we never know what's going to happen. We are not given a heads up so I was reading the script in bed this morning and I was shooketh,” the actress said.
Knowing how Grey's Anatomy works now that the show has crossed the 20-year milestone, viewers can either expect some exciting news for Jo Wilson herself or a major case that the entire Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will have to get their hands on. Either way, it promises to be a dynamic opener.
Season 21 will also mark the return of Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey to regular screen appearances. Season 20's attempts to have the actress step away from the role did not sit well with viewers, so it will be nice to have the pillar that holds the entire show together back.
If you are interested in seeing what season 21 of Grey's Anatomy has in store for you, be sure to tune in on September 26, 2024 on ABC.
