Grey's Anatomy Fans Make It Clear: This Relationship Was a Total Trainwreck
Anyone who has ever watched Grey's Anatomy knows that it revolves around its countless romantic entanglements.
Throughout the show's incredibly successful and long-lasting 18-year run, we've seen a number of relationships come and go. But while some of the matches were great, others left the viewers wondering what the writers were thinking.
And there's one couple, in particular, that fans think is so terrible that they're even forced to skip scenes that involve them.
From unpopular flings like the one between Miranda Bailey and nurse Eli to not-so-great couplings, such as Izzie Stevens and George O'Malley, the showrunners certainly know how to make fans experience second-hand embarrassment on account of numerous questionable pairings on the hit medical drama. But the couple that Reddit appears to agree on being a total trainwreck is Jackson and Maggie, better known as Jaggie.
Jackson Avery and Maggie Pierce, portrayed by Jesse Williams and Kelly McCreary, came from very different walks of life and crossed paths at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. After an excruciating will-they-won't-they journey, they got together in the second half of season 15 and broke up by the premiere of season 16.
Now, this wasn't a regular relationship, by any means. In fact, there was one 'small' problem, and also the main reason why many fans feel that their involvement is simply wrong on many levels – their family ties.
Jackson is Catherine Fox's son and Maggie is Richard Webber's daughter. As you may remember, Richard and Catherine are married, which technically makes Maggie and Jackson step-siblings.
And although they didn't grow up with one another, fans still find this union uncomfortable to watch, especially as they often spend time with their parents and have family outings and dinners. Instead of a love story, many Redditors have shared that they would've preferred to see their relationship grow as siblings.
However, aside from their unique circumstances, fans also think they have zero chemistry as a couple. Not only did their connection feel forced, but there also appeared to be no passion, and the viewers found their storyline borderline bland.

So much so that many saw Maggie more as a sister to Jackson than a girlfriend and were convinced that April was a much better fit for him.
As we can see, Grey's Anatomy fans have made it abundantly clear that Jaggie's relationship was doomed to fail from the beginning due to their complicated family situation and lack of chemistry. Hopefully, the show creators will keep this in mind and avoid bringing in more couples like this one.
