It would be nice to see someone play the character their age, for a change.

Most fans would agree when we say that with the length of Grey's Anatomy, you have to get used to characters coming and going.

Of course, there are some who stay longer than others, but in general, you have to learn to let someone go in order to welcome someone new.

Season 19 of the show was marked by the appearance of 5 new interns who were supposed to breathe new life into Grey Sloan Memorial and become the basis for the upcoming season 20.

While most of them have been well received by viewers, there is one character in particular that they just can't get behind.

Many agree that Harry Shum Jr. is just too old to be playing an intern, and that's one of the reasons why his character, Benson "Blue" Kwan, seems so out of place.

Harry Shum Jr. has made a name for himself in the television industry by starring in shows like Glee and Shadowhunters, as well as appearing in several successful movies like Crazy Rich Asians and Everything Everywhere All at Once.

No one denies his acting talent, and the majority of Grey's Anatomy viewers believe he would be a great fit for any other doctor role.

However, giving a 20-something role to an actor in his 40s is a bit of a stretch.

Of course, in Shum Jr.'s defense, the actor still looks incredibly young, but the knowledge just bothers the fanbase too much to close their eyes to it.

The fact that Benson Kwan is not the most charming person you can imagine adds to the audience's resistance.

People love it when such big shows give the younger, lesser-known actors a chance to show themselves to the general public.

The combination of a harsher character and an actor doubling his age did not do Kwan justice. According to many fans, he remains the least favorite of all the trainees.

If you are interested in seeing Harry Shum Jr. in action on Grey's Anatomy season 19, you can tune in to ABC every Thursday or catch up on missed episodes online.
