GoT Fans Pick Two Surprising Characters They'd Bring Back From the Dead
Regardless of the many plot iterations, Game of Thrones stays very true to A Song of Ice in Fire in at least one regard — the many heartbreaking character deaths.
It's the charm and the curse of the show: when you watch it for the first time, you can't be certain about anything, and you can't help but panic whenever your favorite character is in danger — because in Game of Thrones, those who slip typically die for good.
We have all lost our beloved characters, and most of us lost quite a few of them. But to figure out who fans loved the most, there was recently a poll in the biggest GoT fan community on Reddit.
Its creator, user couca_valerio, posed a question like this: "If you resurrect two of these characters, who would it be?"
The options given were:
- Ned Stark
- Oberyn Martell
- Missandei
- Robb Stark
- Daenerys Targaryen
- Margaery Tyrell
- Cersei Lannister
Additionally, there were Aemma Arryn and Lucerys Velaryon from House of the Dragon … Which got the post removed from the subreddit because having them on the list was a massive spoiler.
The results turned out fairly surprising, to say the least!
The absolute majority of the comments want Oberyn back — some even go as far as putting his name in both slots to show how much they want him resurrected.
But this is not the surprising bit: Oberyn Martell has always been the fan favorite.
But the second most popular dead character is Margaery Tyrell, which comes a bit unexpected considering the other options.
She follows Oberyn closely, being mentioned in at least half of the comments. Granted, most of them specify that they want her back because, quote, "she's hot."
Ned and Robb Stark are chosen by a reasonable number of people, but not too many: apparently, House Stark is not as popular now as it was back in the day.
What really comes as a surprise is just how few people mentioned Daenerys who was seemingly one of the most popular characters until the show's finale when she went completely unhinged.

Instead, quite a few fans want to have prevented Missandei's death as it would've consequently prevented Dany's rampage and its consequences (including her death, too).
Lucerys Velaryon and Cersei Lannister were barely mentioned at all. Aemma Arryn, however, was a decently frequent resurrection request as it would've prevented the Dance of Dragons if she survived the birth-giving.
All in all, out of all Game of Thrones deadmen, Oberyn and Margaery turned out to be the most popular among the fans… And honestly, we can't blame them.
