Full ten years passed since The CW Gossip Girl ended to the dismay of its many fans. Since then, the stars of the teen drama have grown up and become established actors, and the show found its continuation in 2021's HBO Max reboot also titled Gossip Girl.
Apart from the shared universe, both shows are linked by one very important thing, love for fashion. It is safe to say, the original show changed the wardrobes of its viewers forever. Many old-time fans still have Upper East Siders' outfits in their closets.

Upon learning, Meester's wardrobe budget was increased and she would get some amazing outfits in the final season, Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen lost it. Lively felt that the creators went behind her back when doing such an inconsiderate thing. After all, she had the most success outside the show and deserved to be the main focus of the final season.
This scandal was not just based on jealousy of other stars' beautiful outfits. It was about the balance of power and attention in the popular teen drama show. How very in character for the beloved actresses!
