Gleeks, Prepare For The Show's Renaissance In The Next Few Years
Don’t stop believing, and your teenhood will come back too.
Not many people would want to go back to their own high school and all the haunting experiences of growing up, but many would give anything to recapture the feeling of excitement for television that accompanied those times.
The shows you watched on your way home from school will always be special to you, but it would always be especially cool to see them get a second life.
Well, with the industry's tendency to turn everything into a sequel or reboot of some sort, it is definitely possible. The question is: do we have to? Will it be good? Will audiences get it, or will they reject it as not relevant to their lives?
Although the idea of Glee, the show about an unpopular dance club that finds its way to the top, seems timeless, the way the show is filmed would have to change a lot.
With a ton of content on how problematic Glee was all over the internet, and some pretty horrible accusations surrounding the cast, the show would have to be rebuilt from the ground up to meet modern standards.
While the show might find its audience with all its flaws fixed, it might lose its charm for fans of the original version. Not that the charm was all in the creepy teacher/student relationships, body shaming, or racism, but Glee viewers might just be too used to the show being packed with cringe to welcome anything else.
Luckily, that dispute won't be an issue for a few more years, as the show would have to hit at least the 20-year mark to be considered truly nostalgic. However, as the years are passing by awfully fast, don’t be surprised to see an announcement of a reboot in the year 2029.
There is, of course, a long way to go to this date, but that doesn't stop fans from waiting patiently, coming up with new theories and possible storylines, and making lists of songs that the show would have to cover if it were to make a comeback.
After all, many believe these covers to be the best part of the show to this day.
If you are feeling nostalgic and want to revisit the show, you can stream Glee on Hulu, Disney Plus, or Amazon Prime Video.
