Episode 12 of Wizards of Waverly Pod has just aired, and we have learned a disturbing truth from this episode's guest. Josh Sussman, who played Hugh Normous on the show, had a lot to say about his experiences on Wizards of Waverly Place!

Do you remember the adorable little (literally) giant who befriends the Russos and later finds out he is not a giant at all?

Josh Sussman appeared as Hugh Normous in eight episodes of the beloved childhood show, and he stopped by Wizards of Waverly Pod to reminisce about the good old days.

Around the same time that Wizards of Waverly Place aired, the actor actually had a recurring role on another popular series.

He also played Jacob Ben Israel, the creepy senior who was the school's gossip, on Glee.

On the podcast, hosted by Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise, Josh mentioned that he once had "a dream week" when he had to shoot both Glee and Wizards at the same time and switch between two very different roles.

Sussman revealed that he had much more fun on Wizards because there was "friendliness" and a family vibe to it.

Was the Glee set as toxic as the show itself?

Josh didn't say, but he still liked the Disney series a lot more, despite the fact that the pay was unsatisfactory. The actor went on to say that Glee "paid a lot more" than Wizards.

He did appear in 24 episodes of Glee compared to 8 episodes of Wizards, but still, Disney had much larger budgets for their shows, so they could definitely afford to pay their actors more.

In another episode, Jennifer Stone, who played Harper Finkle, also talked about the salary that Disney offered for recurring roles, and it wasn't enough to live on.

David DeLuise, our fave Jerry Russo, seemed to agree with that statement as well, by the way. Although we don't have exact numbers, the trend is alarming.

The Wizards of Waverly Place actors are not the first (and won't be the last) to call out Disney on its salaries, but so far nothing seems to be changing.

The conglomerate is one of the largest in the world, and we hope that they will rethink their compensation policies in the future. Disney, it is 2023, do better!
