Fans on Reddit pointed out that Norah from Ginny and Georgia may not be the good friend everyone thinks she is.

Summary:

  • Norah, portrayed by Chelsea Clark, doesn't get enough screen time throughout the series.
  • While other characters move the plot forward, Norah adds nothing to it.
  • Some fans argue that Norah's character isn’t sweet, and it's unclear whether she's actually likeable or if it's Chelsea Clark's credit.

At first, it may appear that Ginny and Georgia is just another teen drama, but it touches on many complex topics while maintaining a frivolous tone.

But what possibly can be wrong with a sweet and nice Norah, who is portrayed by Chelsea Clark? After all, she’s the one from the MAN group who is welcoming Ginny at the beginning of the series.

Well, firstly, she’s the only character that doesn’t get enough screen time. The first season focuses on Baker’s family since Max is the best friend of Ginny, Marcus her love interest, and Ellen is the only friend Virginia has.

In season 2, we get more of Abby, cause she became close to Ginny, who’s the teller of the story. So maybe in the future Norah’s character will get expanded, but for now she’s kinda… just there?

Secondly, all other characters add to the plot. Bakers are basically the only reason we get anything going in the first season. It’s hard to imagine what would happen if Maxine wouldn’t support Ginny in the English class or Marcus wouldn’t pay his attention to her later.

After a huge fight with Max, Ginny and Abby are cut out of the MAN’s group, so they inevitably become close, and this also pushes the plot forward. But Norah was always in the background of these events.

Being a bystander is the exact reason why people dislike her. She just stood there and watched her friend group fall apart. That’s not what a good friend would do.

A supportive friend also wouldn’t ditch Abby after her kissing Press to pay attention to her boyfriend. That’s good that she was finally there for Abby, but what about all the times when she wasn’t?

“She has no personality or thoughts of her own. She follows and peaches off whoever she can then bashes anyone that person doesn't like," Redditor kpa1991 says.
