General Hospital’s Writers Might’ve Changed, But Its Worst Character Hasn’t
Chances are, she never will.
Summary:
- In the past month, Port Charles has gone through many changes, and General Hospital fans are sure they have a lot to do with new head writers.
- Although the show has picked up the pace and become more interesting to watch, one important thing hasn't changed: Carly's dominance over everyone else.
- At this point, fans believe that her character isn't going to change anytime soon.
While there are plenty of things to distract viewers from what Carly will do next in Port Charles, they all end up crumbling under the weight of yet another stupid decision made by those around her.
It seems like only yesterday we were wondering what made Drew put himself in jail instead of putting his own child first, and now history is repeating itself with another character. Maybe it's time to accept and admit that Carly Spencer is the real supervillain of General Hospital, and that's not going to change no matter what the soap goes through.
Is Carly and Jason Back Together?
Jason Morgan's return coincided with the beginning of a new era for General Hospital under head writers Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahey. To say that viewers were hopeful would be an understatement. The writers seemed to have listened to all the feedback and pushed forward with some very exciting changes.
Over the course of a month, viewers have seen Sonny lose his balance and much of his power, Nina finally get the support she deserves, and the overall pacing of the story change in a way that will keep fans hooked for another episode.
The only character that wasn't affected at all was Carly. And now it feels like she never will be.
Speaking of Jason's return, Steve Burton, who portrays him, used to joke that the fans' ideas of why he appeared in Port Charles were all far from reality. That turned out to be a partial truth, since not many people could actually predict that Jason would come back from the dead only to fall into Carly's trap.
Following in the footsteps of his twin brother Drew, Jason has decided that his relationship with his biological children is less important than protecting Carly and her adult children to whom he has no relationship.
What's even more infuriating is that this decision came after a month of doing everything possible to keep him strictly isolated from another important person in his life, Liz Webber. Now, viewers have no doubt that whether Jarly and Liz will end up together is only a matter of time, and Carly will forever be shielded from the consequences of her poor choices.
If you are a fan of Carly and Jason and want to see where the story takes them, be sure to tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC to not miss another episode.
