General Hospital Fans Try to Guess Whether This New Duo Is Wholesome or Full-On Creepy
That would make anybody's skin crawl.
One thing that sets soap operas apart from regular TV dramas is the way any story can go from 0 to 100 in a matter of days. Soap operas don't have to worry about being unrealistic, because in a world where characters are often recast and can even come back from the dead, no one really expects anything close to reality.
However, there are some things that viewers just cannot get behind. Just like no one likes to see the character go through hell again and again just for the sake of more tear-jerking drama, no one likes to see a romance that gives the audience an ick. And it feels like that's exactly where General Hospital is taking Drew and Willow.
Will General Hospital’s Drew and Willow Get Together?
As Nina's daughter, Willow is an easy target for Drew to manipulate in order to get revenge on her mother. As cruel as it is to use the impressionable young girl to his advantage, it seems as if Drew never cared about morals in the first place and certainly won't care about them this time.
The only hope the viewer has is that their friendship doesn't turn into something else. Even though there is nothing to suggest a romance between Drew and Willow, the audience wouldn't put it past the writers to make them be together despite their age difference.
According to the story, Willow is supposed to be in her late 20s, while Drew is in his late 40s, and that 20 year difference doesn't look good on the screen. While the chemistry between the two actors is unparalleled, the pairing would have been deeply problematic and awkward in the worst possible way.
However, there is a much healthier opinion and explanation for whatever it is that makes them so close. Willow may see Drew as a father figure, which drives her to push him and make sure he reaches the heights she thinks he deserves. While that takes some weight off the shoulders of the fans, the trust in Drew is still very low.
Hopefully, General Hospital won't take this relationship one step further and make it impossible to watch the show without getting creeped out. Instead, fans hope to see the end of this unlikely friendship soon, before poor Willow becomes a tool for revenge.
