It's not easy to keep up the amazing writing when the show you write for airs since 1963 and has thousands of episodes with what seems to be every single possible storyline ever already covered.
However, since General Hospital 's popularity doesn't decline, it looks like viewers are up for many more plots to follow.
The issue is: not all of them are particularly popular among the audience, and some even fall under boring, forced, and unnecessary categories.
Many fans state the lack of interest in a couple of Joss and Dex since their relations just don't give out the chemistry you would hope an on-screen duo has.
They accuse writers of reaching for dramatics where they just shouldn't be, as well as making their storyline too similar to other characters. The reality is: no-one is up to watching a show that's too repetitive.
Another thing viewers noticed is the lack of character progression the show gives to both Joss and Dex separately. Earlier on some were invested in them and saw great potential, but now it looks like the characters became plain.

Kristina seems to be the perfect candidate for that since many noticed her amazing chemistry with Dex before.
