On the surface, Dean Shetty portrayed herself as a trustworthy educator, even acting as a motherly figure to her students. But beneath that facade was a cunning and manipulative individual with a deep-seated hatred for Supes, even going as far as developing a virus to eradicate them.
Despite her affiliation with Vought, she had her own vendetta against the company and supes in general. The show revealed her motivation, but then just killed her off, — that was unexpected. However, her death might have paved the way for a surprising appearance in the finale.

One interesting speculation suggests that some or all of our protagonists are going to end up creating a G-Men team that exists in the comic book, which is basically an X-Men parody.
With our young supes being aware that there are people out there who want all the superhuman race to cease to exist, they might end up becoming rebels against humans, sort of like Magneto and his allies in Marvel comic books.
The group might also split into two teams: those in favor of supes supremacy (potentially Sam and Cate) and those against it (Marie and the others). This might be an interesting take on the “humans vs mutants'' conflict we are all familiar with from X-Men. Fans can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
