The new trailer for The Boys spin-off already showed the character, but everyone missed him.

The Boys TV series introduced most of the major superheroes from the original comic books during its three-season run, but some of them were left in the shadows to presumably appear in future seasons.

Tek-Knight, The Boys' hybrid of Marvel's Iron Man and DC's Batman, was one of them, and when it was announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be appearing in the show's upcoming fourth season, many fans speculated that he would be playing the armored superhero.

However, while Morgan would undoubtedly have been a great casting choice, it looks like fans were wrong, as it has just been confirmed that the character has already appeared in the newly released R-rated trailer for Gen V, a spin-off of the main series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Derek Wilson, best known for 2020's Birds of Prey and the TV series Preacher, will play Tek-Knight in the TV adaptation, though he was shown without his signature armor.

It is unclear how big his involvement in the spin-off's story will be, as it is possible that his appearance is just a teaser for his full introduction in The Boys season 4.

Tek-Knight, or Robert Vernon, is a major superhero in the show's universe and has been referenced several times since the show's debut season.

In the comics, he was a rather unique character in that, unlike other superheroes, he had no actual superpowers, relying on technology, and was one of the few "heroes" who were not strictly evil.

However, he suffered from a sexual psychosis that manifested itself in an irresistible urge to have sex with both living creatures and inanimate objects, which ultimately led to his demise, surprisingly saving the world in the process.

Given the show's tendency to change some of the characters' personalities, it is unclear whether Tek-Knight will remain a sex addict in the adaptation.

Fans seem excited to see Derek Wilson in the role, even if it means that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be playing a different character, as he is a talented actor and will deliver a great performance regardless of Tek-Knight's role in the story.

The first three episodes of Gen V will premiere on September 29, 2023.

Would you have preferred Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play Tek-Knight, or are you okay with Derek Wilson in the role?
