George Martin recently stated his unequivocal support for the Hollywood writer's strike — and received the funniest reaction from his fans.

If you're a fan of the TV series, when you hear "George Martin ", you think "Game of Thrones. "

If you're a book-lover, then A Song of Ice and Fire immediately comes to your mind — and then, you suddenly feel the burning desire to break into GRRM's house and find his The Winds of Winter drafts.

George Martin's rightfully famous for creating amazing stories in one of the best fantasy worlds out there; he's known for his wit and humor; and absolutely notorious for taking his sweet time when writing books.

With each year, the latter becomes more prevalent in his public image, too.

It's been over 12 years since the last ASoIaF book came out, and Martin is still chilling — no The Winds of Winter in sight.

The acclaimed author has been so relaxed that the world-famous show based on his books, Game of Thrones, went far beyond his existing source material and had to improvise for the last few seasons.

During that time, GRRM made pretty much no progress on the books.

While the fans love Martin, he's often mocked for his laziness when it comes to writing. The Internet holds one too many jokes about it — and now, there's a new one added to the bunch.

Recently, George Martin expressed unequivocal support for the currently ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

This Monday, the author wrote in his blog that he stands behind his colleagues, and the GoT sequel's (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight ) writers have also paused and joined the strike.

"I want to go on the record with my full and complete and unequivocal support of my Guild. <...> The issues are more important, and I have never seen the Guild so united as it is now, " wrote Martin.

His fans immediately took the chance to jump GRRM after this statement and remind him that he's the greatest writer's strike expert of all time.

Some claim that Martin himself was the first one to strike as he's been doing that since 2011 when the last ASoIaF book came out; others think that George is just happy to support the strike now as it finally gives him a real reason to avoid picking up the pen.

GRRM's fans are having a blast blasting their favorite author online, and this hilarious rivalry is nothing new to the world.

But just to spice things up, Martin addressed the jokes in his signature fashion: he graciously ensured the fans that his personal work is unaffected by the strike, and The Winds remain his "priority number one."

Based on everything we know about the author, this basically means he'll keep ignoring the book regardless of how long the strike lasts.
