Friends' Rachel Green Would've Been Totally Different If It Wasn't For Courtney Cox
This is an alternative universe Friends we would've given a watch.
There's nothing more fun than finding out how different your favorite characters might have looked or acted if the directors had followed through on their initial ideas.
The changes are always different, for better or worse, but what remains the same is the fandom's curiosity about all those details.
Friends, for example, could have been very different from what we know and love today.
The whole group dynamic could have been changed if Joey Tribbiani had remained the character the showrunners wanted him to be: a bad boy with very little to like about him.
Another example is Rachel Green, played brilliantly by Jennifer Aniston.
Well, we don't know if the character would have been much different, but Rachel's look definitely would have been, since the role was originally intended for Courtney Cox.
It's hard to say what's worse to imagine: Monica Geller being played by someone other than Courtney Cox, or her friend Rachel Green being a brunette.
Either way, Friends fans feel truly blessed by the actress' decision to pursue another role.
Sure, Cox had her own reasons for being more interested in Monica, but it all worked out for the best in the end.
"For some reason, I thought I related more to Monica, which maybe it's because I do. I'm very similar to her … I'm not as clean as Monica, but I am neat. And I'm not as competitive, even though some people, my partner (musician) Johnny McDaid, would say I am," Courtney Cox explained.
The role of Rachel Greene was a breakthrough for Jennifer Aniston, who had tried her luck in various Hollywood sitcoms for years, but never had any luck.
Now, with a net worth of $320 million, you can be sure that the actress has no regrets about joining Friends as the lead and building a solid career in the industry on it.
If you are feeling nostalgic and want to revisit your favorite Friends episodes, you can stream the series on Netflix or MAX.
