Putting them together as love interests was the sickest possible idea.

Gossip Girl is probably the show with the sickest storylines ever created. It's surprising how a show based on the lives of high school students can be a placeholder for so many betrayals, murders, conspiracies, and so much more.

However, much of the show has been devoted to the development of romances of all kinds. The show has so many couples that it's hard to remember them all. Well, there were Dan and Serena's and Blair and Chuck's love stories at the heart of the show. But is it fair to call them the iconic ones?

Because seriously, even those kinds of obsessive and abusive love arcs weren't as bad as this one. The award for most hated couple goes to... Blair and Dan. Yes, apparently this one gets even more hateful comments than the infamous Rachel and Joey couple from Friends.

Fans were actually shocked when they finally understood where the writers were going with intertwining their lives.

“I didn't like 'Dair', it was a bit of a shark jump for me. I didn't mind them slowly developing a sort of friendship through the years, as they begrudgingly warmed to each other after the initial antagonism, but the actual romantic relationship? Nope,” Redditor sakura_drop said.

Even though the writers tried to make them look like two people with the same interests and all, there was absolutely no chemistry between them on screen. It seemed like every time they touched each other, they felt uncomfortable and awkward, and not just them, but the fans as well.

One of the main storylines of the show that was introduced at the very beginning of the show was actually Blair being rude to Dan and everything he represented. And then what, all of a sudden she was okay with him being from Brooklyn? It's just unbelievable, even considering that she was broken at the time.

If you want to relive this gross relationship one more time, you can binge watch Gossip Girl on Netflix.
