Friends’ Fans Picked The Worst Couple (And It’s Not Rachel and Joey)

Friends has not lost its relevance – it is watched by thousands of fans around the world. And while the sitcom should be credited for its lighthearted humor and charismatic characters, the main feature of the show has always been the relationships – from Ross and Rachel getting together, then breaking up, then getting together again, to an unexpected romantic line between Monica and Chandler.
The fans disagree on which couple was the best, but the general opinion is that Alice and Frank Jr. were definitely the worst one.
The story of Phoebe's teenage stepbrother Frank takes an unexpected turn when he tells Phoebe that he has fallen in love with his teacher. Alice is 20 years older than Frank, but despite the huge age difference, they eventually marry.
Shortly after the wedding, Frank and Alice rush to have children, using Phoebe as a surrogate mother. To everyone's surprise, Phoebe became pregnant with triplets, and Frank and Alice were thrilled.
However, in the final season of the series, Frank comes to Phoebe with an unusual request – he asks Phoebe to keep one of the three children for herself. But when he is forced to choose, Frank realizes that he cannot bring himself to part with any of his children, no matter how exhausted he may be.
A poll for the worst couple on Friends was started on Reddit, where Alice and Frank Jr. received an absolute majority of the votes. Frank and Alice met when he was under 18, which makes viewers wonder if their relationship is even normal or legal. Some fans believe that Alice groomed Frank.
In addition, the actress herself, Debra Jo Rupp, did not feel the looseness of her character Alice and was not comfortable during the filming:
“I was horrified. I was absolutely horrified. Every time we got a rewrite in the script, there would be more making out! I would just go, 'Oh my god. Oh my god! I just gotta close my eyes and do it. What else am I gonna do?”
However, although the shooting was difficult for the actress, she had a reliable partner who played the role of Frank – Giovanni Ribisi. According to Debra, he supported her and thanks to him she was able to cope with the role.
